I have a love/hate relationship with Diamond Crown cigars.  I don’t really enjoy the regular line and the Maximus line is hit or miss with me.  They can either be fantastic or  a complete dud when I smoke them.  I know.  Its strange.  So when JC Newman approached me to sample these cigars, I was intrigued.  From what I heard at IPCPR 2009, it sounds like a nice departure from the other lines, one more to my liking. Diamond Crown Maximus Review by Talking Stick

What better place to fire up a Diamond Crown cigar than in an official Diamond Crown Cigar Lounge? Cigar King in Scottsdale has officially opened their larger and more comfortable Diamond Crown Cigar Lounge and held a fantastic Diamond Crown Maximus tasting event last week. Diamond Crown is made by J.C. Newman but this is really a cooperative effort from Newman, Fuente and Oliva. The blend of this cigar was created by Carlos Fuente, Jr and offers Dominican filler and binder. At first glance you may think this is a maduro wrapper but it is not.  The wrapper is a dark, rich looking ligero oscuro wrapper grown in Ecuador by the Olivas at their El Bajo farm. Stogies and Bogeys Review Brick House

BH_1I was in Dallas this week and visited my favorite tabaqueria, Addison Cigar and Tobacco.  I decided to try the Brickhouse from J.C. Newman and was promptly informed that the people from J.C. Newman were going to be there next week for a tasting.  I really need to get on that mailing list so I can plan my work travel around their cigar tastings.

New Diamond Crown Cigar Lounge Opens at St. Pete Times Forum

The J.C. Newman Cigar Company has unveiled the Diamond Crown Cigar Lounge at the St. Pete Times Forum, becoming the only branded cigar lounge in a National Hockey Arena and the official cigar of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Tampa, Fla. based St. Pete Times Forum plays host to a number of world famous concerts and sporting events including the Tampa Bay Storm arena football team and the 2012 Republican Convention.
